I was on Kazaa today trying to download a live version of When The World
Ends since all their songs sound better live, and I only had the CD.
Anyway...when it was done, I went to play the song, and it wasn't When The
World Ends. It was titled "Dave Matthews Band - Bring Me In" and I thought
huh? Me considering myself to be a more-than-average fan of DMB, I had never
heard the title. I played the song..and I honestly can't tell if this is
ACTUALLY Dave Matthews singing in this song. It does sound like it could be
him, but the background music itself doesn't sound like the band's usual
type of sound. So I checked the solo release, and this song wasn't on there

I have tried typing the lyrics into google (different verses) with all kinds
of songs coming up, but never this one that I am looking for. I was
wondering if anyone here could tell me if this is actually a DMB song,
unreleased, rare, b-side, whatever. Here are the lyrics...and if that
doesn't help I've set up an FTP where you can upload the actual .mp3 from me
to listen for yourself.

This is one of those things that bug me (having a song and not knowing the
artist/title of it) and I need to know if this is DMB. I won't be able to
sleep at night, LMAO.

FTP to download: ftp://Dave:***@141.154.40.108/

Lyrics:

Sun is high and I'm feeling low,
There's a summer song on the radio...
You walk on by, and all I do is stare.
Wonder if you're feeling the same, you know,
Love is a trip, and life is a game.
I close my eyes, I feel you bring me in...

Bring me in...you bring me in...you bring me in...
Bring me in...

The way that you wear that flower dress,
The time stands still, yeah my head's a mess.
Caught in the moment when all you do is stare...
You make the seasons change with that simple smile,
The world stops spinning for a little while.
The look in your eyes, oh that brings me in...

Bring me in...you bring me in...you bring me in...
Bring me in...

Bring me in, bring me in, bring me in

I don't want to see you go, sitting on my patio
I don't want to see you go, sitting on my patio
I don't want to see you go, sitting on my patio
I don't want to see you go, sitting on my patio
(stay)
I don't want to see you go, sitting on my patio
(stay)
I don't want to see you go...

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the very helpful and insightful reply! - not.

You know, if it wasn't 1:00 AM, I'd go off on some large rant as to how
people are such assholes online because they feel brave sitting behind their
computer screens.

But, I won't.

IM me, machead41, and send me the mp3. i couldn't get into the ftp.

i just wanna hear it, maybe i can ID it. from the lyrics though, i'm
sure it isn't dmb. i know all their songs, unreleased and released,
plus all their soundcheck jams, and that's not one of them. not even
dave's writing style. not trying to sound cocky about what i know, i've
just been listening to this band for quite some time, and a lot.

anyway, just for the hell of it, i went into limewire and typed in dave
matthews. out of the first 70 or so results that showed up, 11 were
labeled as DMB, and are not. and about 10 others are mislabeled titles.
so, i wouldn't trust any filesharing program with that kinda stuff.
people have asked me before "what about that dave matthews song "the
bartender song". "no, it's bartender" "no, it's the bartender song,
that's what it said when i downloaded it" and they'll argue a lot that
the kazaa title is correct...
